  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Should be at room temperature.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
Add-ins
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) Pecans or walnuts are great options.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream the softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until it’s light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and orange zest.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the dried cranberries, nuts, and orange juice.
Baking
  1. Drop generous spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  3. Let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. Dough can be refrigerated for up to three days or frozen.
