Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the pie crusts on a floured surface.
- Use a Christmas tree-shaped cutter to cut out shapes from the crust.
- Place a small spoonful of cherry pie filling in the center of half of the cut shapes.
- Brush the edges of each bottom crust with egg wash.
- Place a matching shape on top, sealing the pie.
- Press the edges with a fork to seal and make small slits on top.
- Brush the tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
Baking
- Bake the hand pies for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, add a dash of almond extract to the filling. Store in an airtight container at room temperature or freeze for longer storage.
