Method
Preparation of Dough
- In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it rest for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add half the oil to the yeast mixture, then add flour and salt, stirring until a soft, sticky dough forms.
- Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
Baking the Crust
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Line a 12-inch pizza pan with parchment paper and pour remaining oil onto it.
- Press risen dough into the pizza pan and bake for 10 minutes until golden.
Adding Toppings
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter and granulated sugar. Brush this mixture over the crust, then spread the cherry pie filling evenly.
- In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, brown sugar, and salt for the crumble. Stir in melted butter until clumps form, then sprinkle over the filling.
Final Baking
- Bake again for 13-15 minutes until topping is golden.
- For the glaze, whisk confectioners' sugar, milk, and almond extract until smooth, then drizzle over the warm pizza.
- Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
