For the Garlic Butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 6 cloves garlic Roasted for enhanced flavor
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust for spiciness
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil For roasting garlic
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Bread
  • 1 large Italian loaf (take and bake style)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Havarti or white cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (finely chopped) For garnish and flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roast the garlic by wrapping the cloves in foil with olive oil and place in an air fryer or oven for 12-15 minutes until golden and fragrant. Mash the garlic once cooked.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, fresh parsley, dried oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir in the roasted garlic until well combined.
Assembly
  1. Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over the cut sides of both bread halves.
  2. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella, cheddar, and grated Parmesan cheeses evenly over both halves.
Baking
  1. Place the prepared garlic cheese bread on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
  2. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.
Serving
  1. Slice into portions and serve hot with a side of marinara sauce for dipping or as a side dish.

Notes

For added flavor, let the garlic sit in the butter for 15 minutes before mixing. Can accommodate different cheese combinations or toppings.
