  • 4 stalks celery Fresh and crisp
  • 4 oz smoked salmon Torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 oz cream cheese Softened for easy spreading
  • 1 tbsp capers Brined for flavor
  • 1 tsp lemon juice Freshly squeezed for brightness
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper To taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill Chopped for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Rinse the celery stalks under cold water and pat them dry.
  2. Cut each celery stalk into lengths of 4-5 inches and arrange them on a serving platter.
  3. Spread about 1 teaspoon of cream cheese into the groove of each celery stalk.
  4. Tear the smoked salmon into bite-sized pieces and place them over the cream cheese.
  5. Sprinkle the capers evenly across the smoked salmon.
  6. Drizzle with lemon juice and add freshly ground black pepper.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh dill and serve immediately.

Notes

For added flavor, use flavored cream cheese varieties. For a vegetarian option, substitute smoked salmon with sliced avocado or roasted red peppers. Best served fresh, but can be prepared with toppings separate ahead of time.
