Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 1 box confetti cake mix
  • 1 unit egg
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted 1 stick
For the filling
  • 1 package cream cheese, at room temperature 8 oz
  • 3 units eggs
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 package powdered sugar 16 oz
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted 1 stick
  • 1 cup assorted sprinkles

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 13x9 inch baking pan with foil, extending the sides over the edges. Spray with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the confetti cake mix, 1 egg, and melted butter, stirring until a soft dough forms. Press the dough into the prepared pan.
Filling
  1. In the same bowl, combine the cream cheese and 3 eggs, beating until well combined.
  2. Add almond extract and powdered sugar, then beat in melted butter and stir in sprinkles.
  3. Pour the filling over the crust.
Baking
  1. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the top is light golden brown and the center is just about set.
  2. Cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into bars.

Notes

Serve chilled for cleaner edges or at room temperature for a softer texture. Dust with powdered sugar or top with whipped cream for a special presentation.
