  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Adjust if using salted butter.
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch Optional for extra tenderness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract, blending until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, powdered sugar, salt, and optional cornstarch.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  6. Scoop small balls of dough (about 1 inch in diameter) and roll them gently.
  7. Place the balls on prepared baking sheets, two inches apart, and press them lightly to flatten.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
  2. Allow them to cool on a rack before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze wrapped tightly in cling film.
