Ingredients
  

For the filling
  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken Make sure to drain excess liquid to prevent sogginess.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened Soften completely at room temperature.
  • 1/3 cup buffalo sauce Adjust the amount for desired heat.
For the braid
  • 1 tube (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza crust
  • 1 large egg For egg wash.
  • 1 tablespoon water For egg wash.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chicken, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and buffalo sauce; set aside.
  3. Unroll the pizza dough and press into a rectangle.
  4. Use a pizza cutter to cut each side of the braid into about 12 strips.
  5. Spoon the buffalo chicken mixture over the center one third of the pizza dough.
  6. Fold the strips of dough over the filling, alternating sides.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water; brush the egg wash over the dough.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-22 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  2. Slice and serve warm with additional buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, and sliced green onions, if desired.

Notes

For variations, consider adding crumbled blue cheese, using ranch dressing, adding sautéed veggies, or drizzling with hot honey before serving. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze slices for up to 1 month.
