Preparing the Berry Mixture

Making the Dumpling Batter
- In another bowl, mix the flour, 1 tbsp sugar, baking powder, 1/4 tsp salt, nutmeg, and milk until smooth.
Cooking the Dumplings
- Drop the batter by tablespoonfuls into the simmering berry mixture.
- Cover tightly and let the dumplings cook for 15 minutes.
Serving
- Ladle the dumplings into bowls and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
- Garnish with fresh mint if desired.
