Ingredients
  

Blackberry Filling
  • 4 cups fresh blackberries, divided
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
Crust
  • 1 cup toasted pecans, finely chopped Toast in a skillet until fragrant.
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
Cream Cheese Filling
  • 2 cups heavy cream Whip until thick.
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar Add gradually to whipped cream.
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, room temperature Beat until creamy.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F and prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine 2 1/2 cups blackberries, granulated sugar, and brown sugar over medium-high heat. Stir until the sugar melts and berries release their juices.
  3. Whisk together cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then add to the saucepan, stirring until thickened. Remove from heat, stir in lemon zest, fold in remaining blackberries, and cool slightly before refrigerating.
Crust
  1. In a skillet, toast the pecans over medium heat until fragrant.
  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter, flour, and toasted pecans until combined. Press into the bottom of the prepared dish and bake for 15 minutes. Let cool.
Filling
  1. Whip heavy cream until thick, gradually adding confectioners' sugar for sweetness.
  2. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until creamy, then fold in whipped cream. Spread over the cooled crust.
  3. Spoon chilled blackberry topping over the cream cheese filling and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator covered or in an airtight container. Best enjoyed within a few days.
