Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1 packet unflavored gelatin (1/4 oz or roughly 7 grams)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 8 oz tub sour cream
  • 8 oz tub cool whip (fully thawed)
  • 6 oz raspberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • Red gel food coloring (optional)

Method

Prepare the Dish
  1. Spray an 8×8-inch glass baking dish with cooking spray.
Make the Gelatin Base
  1. In a small pan, blend the unflavored gelatin and milk over medium heat. Remove from heat when steam begins to rise and allow to cool.
Mix the Cream
  1. In an electric mixer, combine sugar, sour cream, and cool whip. Add the cooled milk mixture and blend until smooth.
Layer the Cream
  1. Pour half of the creamy mixture into the baking dish. Add a few drops of red food coloring to the remaining cream and spread it over the white layer.
Prepare and Pour Jello
  1. Dissolve raspberry jello in 2 cups of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Let cool to room temperature before pouring over the layered cream.
Chill
  1. Place in the refrigerator and chill for 2-4 hours until the jello sets.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For a stronger flavor, consider infusing the gelatin with vanilla.
