  • 1 1/2 tablespoons white onion, finely minced Let it sit with vinegar to soften its bite.
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar Brings acidity to the sauce.
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small mixing bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, bottled French salad dressing, sweet pickle relish, finely minced white onion, apple cider vinegar, granulated sugar, salt, and black pepper until fully combined.
  2. Transfer the Big Mac sauce to a small lidded container, or cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap.
  3. Refrigerate the Big Mac sauce for 2 hours or up to overnight to allow the flavors to develop.
  4. Be sure to stir the sauce before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled, and let the sauce meet warm bread so aromas unfurl at the surface. Keeps well for up to 5 days; stir gently if separation occurs.
