Method
Preparation
- Combine warm fresh milk, sugar, and instant yeast in a bowl and stir slowly. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes until the yeast becomes foamy.
- Add the egg, a pinch of salt, and half of the flour; mix until a thick batter forms.
- Gradually fold in the remaining flour until a dough forms.
- Incorporate the softened butter and knead the dough for 10-15 minutes until it becomes smooth, elastic, and no longer sticky.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Shaping
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into equal parts.
- Roll each piece out, center an Eden cheese slice within, and seal the edges.
- Place the shaped dough on a baking tray and allow them to rise for another 30-45 minutes.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Brush the tops with egg wash before baking.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and brush with margarine while still warm. Dust with powdered milk.
