Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 580 g 580 g of flour Approximately 4 and ½ cups
  • 180 ml 180 ml of milk Approximately 3/4 cup
  • 120 g 120 g of sugar Approximately 1/2 cup
  • 2 large 2 large eggs Size: L
  • 25 g 25 g of fresh yeast Alternatively, use 10 g of dry active yeast
  • 80 g 80 g of butter Approximately 1/3 cup
  • 1 unit Zest of 1 orange and 1/2 lemon Fresh zest for flavor
  • 3 tbsp 3 tablespoons of orange blossom water
  • 1 pinch A pinch of salt
  • Candied fruits for decoration Decorative topping
Cream Filling Ingredients
  • 1000 ml 1 liter of heavy cream 35% fat content, for whipping
  • 133 g 2/3 cup of sugar For the filling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Gently heat the milk and melt the butter together, then pour the warm mixture into the flour blend.
  3. Add the eggs, citrus zest, and orange blossom water. Stir until everything is well-combined to form a lovely dough.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm spot until it doubles in volume, about an hour.
Baking
  1. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll it out.
  2. Spread the whipped cream mixed with sugar across the dough.
  3. Roll the dough up, tucking in the edges, and place it in a greased mold or baking dish.
  4. Allow it to rest again until it rises.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
  6. Decorate with candied fruits after baking.

Notes

Ensure your ingredients are at room temperature for a better rise. Feel free to experiment with different fillings like chocolate or nuts.
