Ingredients

Crust
  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.5 cups salted butter, melted Unsalted butter can be used with a pinch of salt added.
Layers
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped Can substitute with almonds.
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk Can substitute with homemade version.

Method

Preparation and Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x13 baking pan by spraying with baker’s spray or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter until it resembles wet sand. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of your prepared pan.
  3. Layer the sweetened coconut, semi-sweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and roughly chopped pecans evenly over the crust.
  4. Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the entire pan, ensuring all layers are covered.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 28 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

For a firmer texture, refrigerate the bars. They can also be frozen for up to three months. If pressed down firmly, the graham cracker layer will hold better.
