Description

A creamy, cheesy twist on classic mac and cheese, featuring a flavorful cheese blend and a crunchy topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp mustard powder

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente, then drain.
  2. Shred the cheese and prepare your ingredients.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour to form a roux.
  4. Gradually add milk and cream while whisking to avoid lumps.
  5. Stir in the cheese blend until smooth and melted.
  6. Drain the pasta and mix it with the cheese sauce, adding reserved pasta water if too thick.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Transfer mac and cheese to a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs and drizzle with melted butter.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

Feel free to add bacon bits, jalapeños, or lobster for extra flavor. This dish can be made ahead and is freezer-friendly.
