Description
A comforting and classic casserole featuring tender green beans, creamy sauce, and a crispy stuffing topping, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh green beans, trimmed (or 2 cans of green beans, drained)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups stuffing mix
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional add-ins: crispy bacon, sautéed onions, garlic powder, paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- If using fresh green beans, blanch them in boiling water for 3-4 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and milk.
- Add salt, pepper, and any optional add-ins, then stir until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
- Evenly sprinkle the stuffing mix on top of the green bean mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the stuffing is golden brown.
- If you’d like a crispier top, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
Notes
Make it a day ahead by assembling the casserole without the stuffing topping, then refrigerate overnight. Add the stuffing just before baking.
