Description

A guide to creating nutritious and delicious homemade baby food for every stage of your baby’s development.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small sweet potato, peeled and cubed
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 medium carrot, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tbsp cooked red lentils
  • ½ ripe avocado
  • Carrot sticks, zucchini slices, or sweet potato wedges
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Steam or boil the sweet potato until soft (about 15 minutes). Blend with a bit of water, breast milk, or formula to reach a smooth consistency.
  2. Peel and mash the banana with a fork until smooth. Add a splash of breast milk or formula for extra creaminess.
  3. Steam the carrot until soft. Mix with cooked lentils and mash together. Add water or stock to adjust the texture.
  4. Scoop the avocado flesh and mash with the banana until smooth.
  5. Cut veggies into finger-sized pieces. Steam or roast until soft but still easy to hold.
  6. Mash the banana and whisk with the egg to create a batter. Cook small pancakes in a non-stick pan until golden.

Notes

Use silicone ice cube trays to freeze extra puree portions for easy meal preparation. Always consult your pediatrician before introducing new foods, especially for babies under one year.
